Besides TWOB, MikeD enjoys magic (as in Lance Burton, not The Gathering) and does occasional magic shows. He works as a wine expert for a local liquor store, and is a member in the local Linux User\u2019s Group. Other than that, he has ‘retired’ from the ‘work a day world’.<\/p>\n

Mike got his \u2018broadcast\u2019 start playing tunes on the local collage campus \u2018closed circuit\u2019 network in the early 70s. He got serious in 1985 when he took a position as a host for a jazz and blues show on the local public radio station, WBNI\/WBOI. He had a ball at Northeast Indiana Public Radio, \u2018www.nipr.fm<\/a>\u2019for more than 20 years.<\/p>\n

But his real love is the blues. Mike first \u2018discovered\u2019 the blues when he heard Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee playing at a small local coffee house in 1973. There was no turning back, he was a serious blues fan from then on.<\/p>\n

While Mike was still doing his show on WBOI, there just wasn\u2019t as much \u2018blues time\u2019 on his show as he would like. So when the opportunity to do a blues only show for a blues only station, he was all over that. And now MikeD Live is here on TWOB.
