Raised originally southwest of Chicago until the age of 12 where he cut his teeth on “R&B”, Terry discovered his passion for the blues in the late 80’s through running into an old high school acquaintance that invited him to a local Boston area ‘roadhouse” blues joint where he was playing. On his first night there, there were bikers and nuns in attendance. He was immediately hooked. Soon he was spending two and three nights a week there, soaking in the blues licks by local and regional bands, talking with musicians long into the night and internalizing what he calls the “poetic visceralilty” of the genre.Terry is a long time veteran of the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruises and regional, national and European blues festivals. He is also an avid amateur blues photographer, sometimes doing promo work for regional musicians and festival producers. Retired from the corporate rat race since 2006, he now follows his passion whenever he can. He has subbed in on a local blues radio show in the Boston area, contributes photography and musician interviews for local blues publications such as Barrelhouse Blues. He is a member of the Boston Blues Society and The Blues Foundation. Some of his photography work can be found on his Facebook page.Terry has a fondness for story telling artists like Son House and John Lee Hooker and rocking, soulful blues ladies. His show playlists run the gamut from end to end of the blues genre, very old to very new, including a little bit of R&B as well as the occasional taste of soul and jazz. He still considers blues the best “slow dancing” music to be found.

“Da Stoop” as Terry likes to call it, has a very active “chatroom” with bluescruisers, blueslovers from around the world, blues virgins and the occasional musician stopping in as well. Chat centers around the blues, festivals and what’s happening around the blues world. On occasion some general silliness abounds, which we love. It is just like hanging out on your “stoop” back home with good friends, kicking back and just digging the music. So grab your favorite beverage or whatever does it for ya and join us in the “Da Stoop” chatroom.
